1.5 Object selection
Assuming you choose the left mouse button for selection in the Quick
Setup menu, you will use that button for all selection tasks in Blender.
No matter if you are in the 3D Viewport or any other Editor, your
selection options and shortcuts remain the same.
If you want to select an object or feature in Blender, click on it regardless
of the Editor. For selections of multiple instances in Blender, use the
SHIFT key. Hold the SHIFT key and left-click at multiple objects, to
either include or remove them from a selection.
Info: From this point forward, I will assume you choose the left button for
selection. Whenever I mention a selection, you will perform it using a
left-click.
You will see an orange outline highlighting all selected objects (Figure
1.16).
